As part of the Kruchość by Artistic Journey exhibition, we will experience the transfer of virtual creativity into the spaces of AmberExpo – the opening will take place in Gdansk for the first time! The ‘sunrise_sunset’ exhibition, which explores themes related to the Sun, its energy and light, will be presented for the first time. Once again, there will be an opportunity to meet creators and artists from the field of graphics and design at the Poster Fair.
As part of this year’s edition of Inside Seaside, the music programme will again be enhanced by unique visual activities that highlight the multidimensionality of the AmberExpo space. It is a venue that also offers a space tailored for multimedia and diverse visual arts presentations. The activities of male and female artists will create a unique, immersive atmosphere, combining sounds with images for a deeper immersion in the artistic experience.

ERGO Hestia is the title sponsor of Theatre Stage. Inside Seaside will host the exhibition Fragility by Artistic Journey. This is an initiative organised under the patronage of ERGO Hestia and the Hestia Artistic Journey Foundation, which promotes artists in their natural element – the Internet. The idea behind the competition is to bring virtual creativity into the real spaces of AmberExpo.
This year’s theme is Fragility. Impermanence and transience – the closest associations with the theme of the competition – have been the subject of work by many artists throughout the eras.
– Pandemics, threats to freedom, dwindling natural resources, disrupted ecosystems – all of these have caused many ideas that we used to see as permanent to change their status to ‘fragile’. We believe that this is a good time to try to process our experiences through art. Showing the fragility and uniqueness of a moment is a challenge and an excellent trigger for creativity,’ says Maria Rosa, Director of ERGO Hestia’s Marketing and PR Office and President of the Hestia Artistic Journey Foundation.
The acceptance of applications for the Fragility by Artistic Journey competition has come to an end, and the competition’s chapter has selected 30 photographers! Inside Seaside will host an exhibition of the final works. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of the photographers’ artistic visions. The opening will take place on 9 November at 4.30 pm in the Theatre Stage space.
Poster Fair
For the second time, Inside Seaside will open its doors to the Poster Fair, an event that has been a successful part of the capital’s cultural landscape for years. It is not only an opportunity to interact with modern design, but also a meeting space for artists and enthusiasts. Every year, the fair attracts thousands of people interested in contemporary art and graphic design – the first edition of Inside Seaside was no different.
– You are cordially invited to the Poster Fair zone at Inside Seaside! We have brought with us works by artists from all corners of Poland – from posters and graphics to a variety of artistic gadgets. On our stands, you will also find unique notebooks, calendars, bookmarks and albums of artwork. This is the perfect opportunity to choose something for yourself or find the perfect gift! – encourage the organisers.
The fair is an opportunity to come into direct contact with talented artists and creatives who are contributing to the renaissance of the poster as a decorative element in homes and public spaces. Buying a work of art straight from the artist is a unique experience that enriches both parties – the creator and the recipient. The Poster Fair has been running since 2012 – first as an intimate event and then as a large event that moved from Krakow to Warsaw and began to attract crowds of poster and illustration enthusiasts. This year it will host Inside Seaside in Gdansk for the second time.
‘sunrise_sunset’
This year’s new addition to the space is the exhibition ‘sunrise_sunset’. The idea for this endeavor was born out of the need to address the scarcity of energy and sunlight we experience in our part of the globe on the shortest, coldest, and gloomiest November days of the year.
The exhibition is intended to encourage us to ‘light up and warm up’ in the glow of art. – For me, the sun is an extremely important companion in life, which I try to appreciate, affirm, explore, and spend as much time with as possible,’ says the exhibition’s curator, Emilia Orzechowska. – That is why I propose to the many thousands of visitors to Inside Seaside a community ‘illumination’. Let’s look into the sun’s disc, warm our bodies and senses in its luminous glow, and create afterimages under our eyelids.
The exhibition features more than a dozen works by women and men artists whose work explores themes related to energy and sunlight, touching on various aspects of contemporary life: those related to mental health (linked to the emission of light similar to sunlight, which affects the light-sensitive areas of the brain, stimulating the secretion of melatonin, which influences our well-being by regulating the biological clock) to ecological themes concerning both renewable energy sources, sustainable development, as well as the more problematic aspects of the ‘darker’ side of the Sun, which brings about climate change, global warming, droughts and, as a consequence, increasingly difficult conditions for ‘living and surviving’ on our planet. Project implemented and co-funded as part of the National Recovery Plan.
