Kevin Morby, Hania Rani, Christian Lee Hutson, Kerala Dust, and SPRINTS are added to Inside Seaside. Passes and 1-day tickets in the Regular Tickets are available until 31 August.
Folk songs, a spacey fusion of piano and instrumental electronica, pulsating indie pop or post-punk catharsis – Inside Seaside announces another set of artists from abroad and one particular artist from Poland.
Kevin Morby has been compared to Bob Dylan and Lou Reed. His latest album, This Is A Photograph, is mainly about his fear of death but also reveals the musician’s joys and hopes. The album has been well received by critics and audiences alike, and he will be seen with his full band at Inside Seaside.
Hania Rani is an award-winning pianist, composer, and vocalist. She has been nominated several times for the Fryderyk Awards and received the Passport of Polityka, and her live sessions for Cercle, NPR, KEXP, or Studio S2 have millions of listens and views. On her latest album, Ghosts, she combines the sound of the piano with electronics and her voice. Her appearance at Inside Seaside is the only concert announced for this year in Poland.
Christian Lee Hutson’s work combines country, Americana, and folk, through which he tells stories of change and experience. All of these influences and sounds make us feel at ease with ourselves. On his latest album, Quitters, Hutson creates a portrait of where he comes from – full of nostalgic outlooks mixed with resignation and release, but also taking the specific form of appealing and catchy songs. The musician’s friend Phoebe Bridgers is the producer of the two albums he has released.
Kerala Dust’s love of electronic music is combined with a fascination for indie sounds, and this is perfectly reflected in the listening audience. They are both club and rock music regulars – Kerala Dust’s music combines blues and Americana with electronic beats, created in a very unconventional way, and their concerts are full of exploding energy.
Their complete opposite is the sound of the Irish SPRINTS: accompanied by aggressive, post-punk guitars, the group transforms pain into truth, passion into purpose, and perseverance into strength. Their style is reminiscent of early Pixies, Bauhaus, or Siouxsie and the Banshees, and the NME described the group’s latest album as “darkly defiant.” The visceral garage punk results in a palpable sense of catharsis.
Previously announced artists for the second edition of Inside Seaside include IDLES, Black Pumas, The Last Dinner Party, RY X, Artur Rojek, Daria ze Śląska, Skubas, Vito Bambino, Kasia Lins, Rusted Teeth, JAD, Lor, Sad Smiles and USO 9001. More announcements are to come.
The second edition of Inside Seaside will take place on 9-10 November at the AmberExpo halls in Gdańsk, where you can attend concerts and numerous accompanying events.
