Texas-based band Black Pumas powers the Inside Seaside 24 line-up. The duo joins the previously announced IDLES and RY X. From 1 March, tickets are also available at a 10% discount for holders of the Gdansk Resident Card.
The line-up of the Gdansk indoor festival is expanding. Joining the already announced IDLES and RY X is the duo Black Pumas – representatives of psychedelic soul from Austin, Texas, seven times nominated for a Grammy Award and acclaimed by the music press and fans alike.
The band is made up of Adrian Quesada and Eric Burton. Their paths merged in 2018 and they have been performing as Black Pumas ever since – and the reference to the name of the organisation that fought for the rights of the black minority in the US in the 1960s and 1970s is no coincidence.
The Texas-based Black Panthers hark back to this period with their sound, firmly rooted in soul and R&B, mixing it with a touch of psychedelia and rock. Their debut album saw the light of day in 2019, and received a Grammy Awards nomination for Best New Artist later that year. This one was followed by others, with seven in total, including this year’s for Best Rock Performance. The band has two studio albums to their credit – the aforementioned debut ‘Black Pumas’ and ‘Chronicles of a Diamond’, released in October 2023.
Black Pumas’ appearance at Inside Seaside is a nod to all lovers of music combining alternative R&B with rock and emotionality hidden in the vocals and lyrics. The duo joins two previously announced stars of the Gdansk festival, British band IDLES and Australian singer and producer, RY X.
The second edition of the festival will take place on 9-10 November at the AmberExpo halls in Gdańsk, under whose roof it will be possible to attend concerts and numerous accompanying events. In 2023, this two-day festival of music with the participation of foreign and Polish artists proved to be a huge success in terms of attendance and artistry – the festival was attended by more than 12,000 people , filling the gap of music events organised in autumn.
