Variété is a legend of the Polish alternative scene and one of the most important bands to emerge from the Jarocin scene of the 1980s. The group made their debut in Jarocin in 1984 and quickly achieved cult status as a new wave band. Over the decades, their music has evolved from a cold wave sound to free jazz influences, then to electronica, trip hop, and trance. Their latest album, Sieć Indry, was released in October 2025 and received an enthusiastic critical reception. Grzegorz Kaźmierczak’s lyrics and the band’s distinctive, hypnotic compositions ensure that Variete remains one of the most original bands on the Polish music scene.
