For a long time, there hasn’t been a group on the international rock scene that uses their music to express rebellion sharply and honestly. Whether they address social or political issues, IDLES do so uncompromisingly. They were formed in 2009 and released four albums, with the breakthrough Joy as an Act of Resistance. They will come to Gdansk to promote their fifth release, ‘TANGK’, released in February 2024. If previously they were pissed off at the world, working through their traumas and anger, now they look at reality in brighter colors, offering love, joy, and gratitude for the very possibility of existence. The leading single ‘Dancer’ is the album’s pulsating and sassy highlight: scathing, fun, and optimistic.
